We offer flexible exhibition periods ranging from 1 to 3 weeks. Artists can apply individually, in pairs, or as a group. KOOLA does not take commission on artwork sales.

While we welcome applications from all backgrounds, we particularly encourage submissions from:

Open Call for 'Transitions' Group Exhibition

An exhibition exploring change and transitions - whether physical, emotional, social, or conceptual. You are free to interpret the theme as you wish.

Exhibition dates: January 9-22, 2026

Application period: August 15 - September 15, 2025. Decisions may be made during the application period.

You can apply with 1-3 artworks (maximum size 30cm x 30cm) or with larger works, in which case you'll pay for two slots per large artwork.

The artwork can be wall-mounted or placed on a pedestal. The gallery will handle the installation.

Exhibition fee: 40€ per artwork (or 80€ for larger works)

Exhibition fee includes:

• Space in the exhibition

• Artist introduction on KOOLA's social media and website

• Exhibition promotion

• Non-alcoholic opening reception refreshments

The artist is responsible for insuring their artwork.

Artwork requirements: Works can be wall-mounted pieces or sculptures suitable for placement on pedestals. The gallery does not have a projector or other technical equipment, but you are welcome to bring your own.

Exhibitions are held at the KOOLA art space in Kallio, located at Pengerkatu 9.

Our gallery is a beautiful and compact space with a front wall that is entirely a window. The space is approximately 24 square meters in size, with a total of around 30 square meters of hanging area: about 4.6m x 3m on two walls and about 1.8m x 1.8m on a hanging panel for lighter works.

NOTE! The gallery does not have a kitchen, separate backroom or storage space.

KOOLA Art Space warmly welcomes submissions from international artists. While we are thrilled to consider your work for our exhibitions, please note that international artists are responsible for the shipping costs associated with sending their pieces to our venue.

If you are unable to be present for the installation or de-installation of your solo exhibition, our staff can handle this for you. An additional service fee of €120 will be added to your exhibition cost to cover both installation and de-installation work.
